Day 1:

Morning departure from Arusha for Karatu, a fertile farming area between Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro. Explore this bustling town with its rich history and diversity of ethnic groups. Meals and overnight at Kudu Lodge (full board)

Day 2:

Today we visit the Hadzabe people, the last of the hunter/gatherer tribes. Walk the shores of Lake Eyasi, enjoy a picnic lunch and join in a hunt in the surrounding bush. Dinner and overnight at Kudu Lodge (full board)

Day 3:

After breakfast, drive across the Ngorongoro Highlands to Serengeti National Park. Game viewing and picnic lunch on the seemingly limitless plains en route to dinner/ overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge (full board)

Day 4:

Full day in Serengeti, home of the Great Migration. Follow the predators and their prey in this vast and rich ecosystem, which teems with exotic wildlife and a stunning array of birds both large and small. Meals and overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge (full board)

Day 5:

Morning game drive and lunch-time visit to the museum at Olduvai Gorge, where artifacts and historical records are displayed in this home of Zinjanthropus and other hominids. Continue game viewing on your way to overnight at Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge, perched on the Crater rim (full board)

Day 6:

Descend to the Crater floor after early breakfast and marvel at the abundance of wildlife in this famous caldera. Seek out the rare black rhino and admire the thousands of flamingo on the central lake. After lunch at the Hippo Pool picnic site, wend your way to the ascent track, watching out for elephant and leopard on the way. Overnight in Karatu at Kudu Lodge (full board)

Day 7:

Here you have the option of visiting Lake Manyara National Park (famous for its tree-climbing lions) combined with a cultural tour of the colorful market town of Mto wa Mbu with overnight at Lake Manyara Hotel on the Great Rift Valley escarpment (full board) OR...

Driving on to Tarangire National Park, where the Tarangire River attracts millions of animals during the arid, dry season from surrounding areas and where huge herds of elephant graze, amid the ancient baobab trees which speckle this park. Meals and overnight at Tarangire Safari Lodge inside the park (full board)

Day 8:

Morning visit to neighboring villages and different tribal groups and a chance to sample local food. Afternoon departure for Arusha and proceed to the airport.
