Mt. Kilimanjaro is a vision that has fed the human imagination for eras. Much more than the highest mountain rising 19,340ft (5895 m) above the African plain, Kilimanjaro truly stands alone among the mountains of the world. The huge, solitary volcano is unaccompanied by any mountain chain. Though its size is immense, it also has one of the world's most accessible peaks.
The forest surrounding the National Park is settled by exclusive Elephant, Bushbuck, Buffalo, Leopard, numerous antelopes, Primates, Rodents and the endangered Abbot’s duiker. This though and speechless wonder reigns in its presence, the traveler who witnesses Kilimanjaro mountain will speak of it for years
The best time is during the dry season from late June to October and between late December and early March between short and long rains.
Mt. Kilimanjaro boasts of many animals and birdlife that hikers encounter during
their summit. This mountain has 25 Antelopes, 140 different types of Mammals,
7 Primates, 24 different Bats, 179 Bird Species, and 25 Carnivores.
