Mahale Mountains National Park

This Park can be reached only by boat from Kigoma or charter flight. Situated on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, Mahale Mountains National Park covers an area of approximately 1,600 sq km and is mainly popular for chimp trekking and observing the monkeys and smaller mammals such as blue duiker, mongoose, civet and hyrax. More than 250 species of fish inhabit the Lake, where it is possible to swim and snorkel.
