Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Lake Victoria, Rubondo Island, Gombe Stream, Mahale Mountains and the remote, wild Katavi National Park. Our North/West Tanzania safari shows you all the best that Tanzania has to offer.
Tour Plan
Day 1:
Collection from Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to Arusha Hotel or Ilboru Safari Lodge for overnight (bed/breakfast).
Day 2:
Morning departure on safari to Tarangire National Park, famous for its ancient baobab trees and large herds of elephant. Game drive and picnic lunch in the park. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Safari Lodge (full board).
Day 3:
After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro and descend to the Crater floor for game viewing in this famous caldera and lunch at the Hippo Pool picnic site. Dinner and overnight on the crater rim at Ngorongoro Wildlife Lodge (full board).
Day 4:
Today we continue our adventure to Serengeti National Park, home of the Great Migration. Game viewing, picnic lunch and visit to Olduvai Gorge en route to dinner/overnight at Seronera Wildlife Lodge (full board) .
Day 5:
Full day on the vast Serengeti Plains. Game drives in search of predators and their prey. Meals and overnight in the heart of Serengeti National Park at Seronera Wildlife Lodge (full board).
Day 6:
After early breakfast, drive out of Serengeti National Park through Ndabaka Gate and lunch en route to Mwanza on the shores of Lake Victoria. Overnight at Mwanza Hotel (half board).
Day 7:
Today we take a boat across to Rubondo Island, a water wonderland of papyrus swamps, beaches and forest. Overnight at Rubondo’s luxury tented camp (full board).
Day 8:
Venture on to Kigoma, on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, and take time to admire the work of renowned dhow builders. Overnight at Kigoma Hilltop Hotel (full board).
Day 9:
Visit our nearest living relatives – the chimpanzees of Gombe Stream. A short motor boat ride brings you to Gombe National Park, made famous by the pioneering work of Dr Jane Goodall. Follow the chimpanzees in the forest and watch the troops of olive baboons which frequent the lakeshore. Overnight at luxury tented lodge (full board).
Day 10:
A longer boat ride this morning brings us to Mahale Mountains National Park which, like Gombe, is home to some of the last remaining wild chimpanzees in Africa. Overnight at Kungwe Beach Lodge (full board).
Day 11:
Stay for a day and sample the delights of Mahale. Forest walks, bird-watching, chimp trekking and cooling off in the clear waters of the lake are just a few of the activities in which one may indulge here. Overnight at Kungwe Beach Lodge (full board).
Day 12:
Stay for a day and sample the delights of Mahale. Forest walks, bird-watching, chimp trekking and cooling off in the clear waters of the lake are just a few of the activities in which one may indulge here. Overnight at Kungwe Beach Lodge (full board).
Day 13:
Watch elephant grazing waist-deep in the marshlands and gaze at flotillas of pelican as they cruise the lakes, during this full day in Katavi National Park. Capture amazing images of the abundant wildlife which roams this huge wilderness. Overnight at Katuma Bush Lodge (full board).
Day 14:
A morning flight takes us back to civilization. Relax and enjoy the historical city of Dar es Salaam as you prepare for your long flight home tomorrow. Overnight on the beachfront of this bustling city at Holiday Inn (half board) .
Day 15:
Today we will transfer you to Dar es Salaam Airport to connect with your ongoing arrangements.
